Gate Operation

Normal Operation - 15 Second Delay

You can purchase a remote control (multi-code 308911) inexpensively at Amazon's website ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MXD2AK1 ) or locally (Tractor Supply, Walmart, Lowe's, etc.) as long as it is a 10 pin remote.  The remote will allow you to open the gate without getting out of your car.

  1. Leaving: The gate will automatically open when your vehicle passes the orange post on the right side of the road going out of Line Runner (mountain side).  If your car is too far to the left on the road (valley/stream side), the sensor will not pick up your car and will not open the gate.                                                                                                     Tip: You can also use your clicker further up the hill before the orange post to start the gate opening so that it is opened fully by the time you get to the gate.
  2. Arriving:  Open the gate by keying in the 4 digit code on the keypad or by using your clicker. The gate will open and it will automatically close after 15 seconds.
  3. Please allow the gate to open all the way! If you “run the gate” (go through it before it is all the way open) you risk damage to your vehicle.
  4. If you come to the gate and it is open, DO NOT go through, it may close on you.  Press the button on your clicker or key in the code again to add another 15 seconds to the timer.

Gate Troubleshooting

How to Troubleshoot the Gate

If the gate is not working and you can’t get in:

(place your high heels in a safe location for this task)

Take a cloth, Kleenex, towel, napkin, anything and clean off :

  1. Wipe the reflector across the road from the hinged side of the gate.
  2. Wipe the eye next to the bottom hinge of the gate.
  3. Wipe the eye mounted on the table the gate operator sits on.
  4. Wipe the reflector up the hill the length of the gate.
  5. Wipe the sweat off your brow.

Ninety percent of the time after you wipe them off, the gate will operate normally.

After completing the above:

  • Try your clicker or the keypad after cleaning sensors and reflectors.
  • If the above does not work, disengage the operator before pushing the gate open.  If you don’t disengage the operator, you will break the gear box.  If you want to learn how to disengage the operator, please contact the board. It does not take a lot of strength to disengage the operator arm, so men and women can learn how to do this. Men, see note about high heels, act responsibly please.

The gear box has been broken numerous times in the past). There is a camera on the gate.  If someone breaks the gear box, whether a part of the community, a visitor or a vendor, they will be responsible for the cost of repairs.

DO NOT PUSH OR PULL GATE OPEN WITHOUT DISENGAGING OPERATOR FIRST

You can purchase a remote control (multi-code 308911) from https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MXD2AK1 that will allow you to open the gate without getting out of your car.

Men, you can purchase your high heels here.

Our thanks to Dan Ristau for his tireless efforts on the gate.
